The Prince George Harmony in Relationships Youth Campaign

2016

Funding provided by: National RCMP Family Violence Initiative Fund

The intent of this project was to “deliver workshops and activities that would create awareness about violence in relationships and family violence.  Working with a community partner, Justice Education Society, workshops were delivered to youth within S.D.# 57 with an Anti Bullying Day finale that included music by Aboriginal musicians Kim Gouchie, and Joel West, who are both motivational speakers that addressed their own struggles with youth violence and bullying.  Over 250 youth participated in this event.

Also! At this event we revealed two Buddy Benches that were gifted to the Aboriginal Education Department. Stay tuned to see where they will be placed! And thank you once again to PGRCC for all of your support, as well as, JTM Home Solutions and Vanway Cabinets for supplying materials!
